Stop, Look, and Listen
Proud as I am that I have gotten the courage to use what little knowledge my younger brother has taught me in using a chako and beaten the dogs that haunt my mornings, this is not the blog for that. Instead, this blog is for nature and how wonderful it is to be alive.
Despite the rain on my way to work, I find myself very amused with the sight that befell me. It was really amazing. In the rain, I saw creatures that I won't rarely see except in the province. But it was really great to see them crawling in the sidewalks of the busy street of Makati. I saw two snails, a worm and a centipede (not to mention the driving monkey that I got to glance up on my way to work).
As I've said, I've never get to see those things often. And usually people just pass them by or worse step on them as they trudge along minding their own business not caring that they took a life. I hate to think that we usually take these things for granted. Who would have thought that the smaller snail can move faster than the bigger snail? I know you don't care about these things because who would care to know that before you even try to step on a centipede it would already curl up into a spiral so that it won't get hurt when you step on it?
Life isn't always about the money we earn, the bills to pay, the gimiks that we spent with our friends and family. With the fast pace world that we are in right now, we forget to stop and smell the flowers that is on the path beautifying your surroundings.
With all the problems that I had been facing (most of which was because of my own mistakes) I forgot the real meaning of living. We tend to forget that a seven year old is living better in life just having the minimalist things and he's happy with that little toy that he's holding.
I know life won't ever be that simple. But if we stop and look at life or how other creatures live their lives, we might see the beauty of things and of how God created the world (provided you believe in a higher being). Then, looking at the wonders around us, even with all the complications life brings us, we know that it's alright because there is something wonderful around us that makes it all worth while.
