Annoying Person in the Bus

After my elation of Kimi Raikkonen winning yet again in the last Grand Prix, I was very annoyed on the bus ride going to work today.

There was this guy complaining about the fare increase (honestly, the fare increase was already two weeks old...I'm really wondering why he's complaining now). He adds that the airconditioned buses are cheaper now compaired to non-aircon. The conductor of the bus already gave him the original copy of the new metrix system but he still complained.

Now, though I am not happy myself with the increase in the fair for jeeps and ordinary buses...there is really nothing we can do about it. One major reason is that our government really can't do anything about the oil prices constantly going up and I really don't think it's going down anytime soon or if it's even going down at all. I mean, the government has no hand in it whatsoever especially because we have no reserves to talk about unlike the US (I could be wrong about this though).

I was really pissed off at that guy who was complaining about the bus fare. Some people even had the guts to say to the guy to just take the aircon bus if he really doesn't like the bus that he's on. I know times are hard but heck, those drivers are making a living as well. I mean, I really can't complain. I know how high the price of diesel since the van has a diesel engine. I know its really hard for the drivers since they need to pay for the toll on the Skyway as well. And I know that THAT isn't cheap (hence the reason why I don't take the Skyway to work when I use the van). The fare increase would really help them gain more money for their families and starving kids. I don't think the guy knows that...he only thinks of himself. I think he doesn't know how much petrol costs these days hence the reason why he's complaining.

Anyway, before I stop making sense and start complaining about the government yet again, I would just like to point out that I know that there was an increase in the ordinary bus and it's higher than the airconditioned. I know that already and I still take the ordinary bus to work. I just try to look at it in a good way. There are still perks in riding an ordinary bus especially the buses en route to EDSA:
  1. In the Bus Station in Alabang, there are so many people riding the aircon bus and in the morning, there aren't that many aircon buses going to work. (I don't know why though) Because of the lack of buses, people tend to race towards the bus when it arrives. There isn't any line to make it more organized. It's every man for himself. I do not have a problem with that in the ordinary bus. They have so many buses and you really don't have to fight your way just to get a seat.
  2. For some reason, most of the aircon buses do not have aircon at all. A lot of them have so many different flavors of air-fresheners that it will really make you dizzy if you ride a non-aircon-airconditioned bus. Plus the fact taht it moves too much, you feel like your in a boat going to Mindanao or something.
  3. Ordinary buses are more spacious (well, all the ordinary buses that I ride are). I really don't have to squirm a lot just to be comfortable in my seat. Yes, I know that there are buses that have wooden back rest but heck, there's leg room and more space in the seat that a 3-seater bench can seat two fat guys and a thin one comfortably.
  4. Most of the aircon buses are really disgusting to look at when you go inside. Plus the fact that most of them are infested with cockroaches. Honestly, do you really want to have a cockroach for a seatmate?
  5. In continuation with Number 2 explanation, Ordinary buses are more ventilated with their open windows than the stuffy aircondition buses whose airconditioning doesn't work at all. (Though sadly, buses going to lawton does...sigh). I know that on the downside, it's more polluted...but heck, I'd rather wear a mask than not breathe at all.
So, even though it's roughly a P5 increase for me when I go to work, I'd still rather take the ordinary bus.

And I really hope that that guy this morning sees it my way.
