Last Saturday, my sister and I went out of our way to visit two Formula One cars that were on display at two locations. One was at Glorietta which was the Honda and the other was at the Mall of Asia, which was the Mclaren. To me, it was a very great day indeed.
Though, not really a fan of the teams that went here, we really couldn't pass off on a chance to at least see up close how the F1 car looks like. So, even though it was really out of the way and though, I would rather be home reading a book...we didn't pass off on the opportunity to view the cars out on display.
Our first stop, Mall of Asia. Where Kimi Raikkonen's Mclaren Mercedes was put on display. Okay...I know that it was only a show car and not the actual car that Kimi uses during races but it was still a sight to see. Knowing the actually length, height and weight of the car was very informative. I couldn't let pass taking a photo of me in front of the car. I was loving every moment of it.
Aside from the F1 car, they also featured the Safety Car and the Mercedes CLS. The Safety car was the Mercedes SLK 350. I told myself if I had the money I would have bought myself that car. It was fast, going 350km/h, acceleration speed from 0-100km/h was 5.5 seconds. It was also a convertible...(though in this country...I would be wondering where I will use it if I want the top down) and the interior was really magnificent.
The CLS has more of less the same features as the SLK though it's a sedan. And they were featuring the supposed "paddle shifts" found at the back of the steering wheel. It's a nice car...but I would prefer the SLK from it.
One of the things though that I was frustrated was their merchandize...It was too expensive that even if I want to buy it, I'll think twice...may even three times before I would decide if it's really worth it to buy a P4,000 cap.
Our next stop was at Glorietta where Jenson Button's Honda was put on display as well. Unlike the Mclaren road show, theis place was more packed with people since it also features all the other cars that Honda has. They have put on display several other cars that they have been selling in the market including a New SUV and their concept car.
Again, it was only a show car. But I guess all the formula cars that will be put on display would only be show cars.
Either way, last Saturday was really a great day for me. I and my sister had a blast looking at the cars and their specs. It's really good to learn about cars and stuff. It's very informative as well.

Hiya Mitch!
Nice pics!
Too bad I didn't know that they would be displaying Kimi's car in Mall of Asia last week. Ironically I was at Mall of Asia that week and I can't believe I missed it.
P4000 for a cap? Just go to Greenhills and the fake one costs P250! Not that I'm promoting it though...
Take Care dearie!
sorry, forgot to sign-in.. It's me, Rianne.
