Finally, I get to play Ragnarok
People call it RO for short. When I heard it before, I thought people were taking up ROTC, even girls. Then it just dawned to me that they’re talking about a different thing entirely. They’re talking about a game called Ragnarok.
It’s an online RPG game. People who has experience playing real RPG (not the computer type Final Fantasy or Diablo kind but the Dungeons and Dragons kind) would find the game very interesting. Though the game does look and feel like a Diablo type of RPG, there are some aspects that makes it more like the Dungeons and Dragons kind of game.
I for one have never played Diablo. I have solely played RPG where I get to see the Game Master (GM) sitting beside or in front of me telling me the scenario of the game with other players around me arguing with the GM or trying to get the feel of the place where we are in. I’m used to roll dice to know if I hit or not. I’m not used to wacking someone several times, numbers shooting out of the screen and eventually killing them. I use my imagination for that. And it’s really a weird feeling.
But still after some coaxing from my friends I’ve decided to try out the game. And I need to get used to it still.
At the start of the game since I don’t know anything about it, I started with just going in training to find out if I could actually pull off being a thief in the place. But time constraint and a grumbling tummy led me to get disconnected with the game right when I’m being asked questions regarding the things I need to do to play the game. And after 5 questions and only getting 1 right answer, I know that I have so much to learn still. And that’s just knowing what mouse button to click to do this particular action. =D
But even with that short experience, I know that I will be like my other friends who will get hooked on the game. It’s really different from what I’m used to but I’m eager to learn a thing or two about it. =) Let’s just hope that I can get a job as a GM in the game. Jay said that it pays low but it’s better than being stuck in this office the whole day thinking of ways to slack off. =)
