Worth Fighting For

"What is it that you're fighting for Atharan, soldier of Zaft. Is it for your father's orders? Is it for that medal you recieved? What is it that you're fighting for now?" - Lacus Cliene, Gundam Seed

As I was watching Gundam Seed, this phrase just kept on jumping in on every episode that I've watched. Honestly, with the present situation that our world is going through, this is really a timely.

What is it that we're fighting for? Most of you would answer terrorism. But think about it in another light. Most of the terrorist are just answering back to the oppression that they have experienced in their lives. They are just reacting to what we have been doing to them and their only way to fight back is through violence. But as time passes, we forget what the real reason we fight and we still continue to fight nonetheless.

What is it that we're fighting for? What is it that keeps this stupid fight against terrorism on going when it should have already stopped when they already gotten rid of their so-called leader? Was it the right thing to do then that they gotten rid of the leader when during those times he wasn't really doing anything? And because of this action, the reaction wasn't what we've expected?

What is it that we're fighting for now? Is it the freedom of the so-called oppressed people? Is it really fighting against terrorism as we claim? Is it the popularity of our country? Is it for the oil?

Think about it. What is it that we're really fighting for?
