"I thought you were Asian?"
"Hai!"
After reading Jay's review of Constantine in both his blog and multiply account, I suddenly found myself reminising the past. Back in the days when I was in college and playing RPG in Neutral Grounds. =)
Hehe...I remember this particular RPG so well...well, just that part basically. It was a GURPS game. We play ourselves and we try to work as a group to help get us out of this tough situation.
Anyway in this particular game, we were brought back to the 15th century. And for some strange reason we're somewhere in Europe. Anyway, since we were still in our usual jeans and blouses and rubber shoes and sandals, of course we were very out of place. The solution that Kate made was to just "borrow" a couple of clothes that were being dried in a very "hospitable" little home. She got us nice clothes too, but I never really liked those dresses with parasols and stuff so I opted to wear guy's clothes: shirt, trousers and boots. Then we're off to explore the time frame.
On our short exploration, we met a would be knight. Typical European. Blonde hair, nice stature, a little rugged but still look presentable, but for some reason he was being rediculed by everyone. We talked to him for a while before the Lord of the Land found us and welcomed us in his land. We thought that was the last time we'll ever see the strange knight-wannabee.
So in the castle of our host who was the "Lord of the Land", we were asked few questions which Kate's diplomacy and Becca's good looks granted us the good graces of our host. Before we took leave, one of his advisors, an old man if I could remember correctly, approached me and started poking my shoulder. Both Nicco and Glen stepped in between and asked the old man what he was doing for which the old man answered, "is your friend a Devil Worshipper? For she is wearing clothes of man."
For which I laughed and answered solemnly, "my lord, I am Asian. These are typical clothing of women. I am neither man nor Devil Worshipper."
"So," he asked, one eyebrow shot up in question. "You're Asian?"
"Hai!" I answered.
They bought the bluff and we were lead outside because the lord of the land was going to give us a tour of his land. While walking around we saw the same knight wannabee tied up to an Anchor near the lake. Though we really haven't met the man, we feel sorry for him.
"Why is he being tied up to an anchor?" Jay asked, buying us time to think of a way to save him.
"He is a crazy man," the old man answered. "He needs to be executed."
Then, I suddenly blurted out, "but you can't kill him! He's my uncle!"
Everyone looked at me that time in utter disbelief. Then the old man spoke, "your uncle? I thought you were Asian?"
To which I answered with my eyes going half-closed, "Hai!"
Then I added, "well, he's not really my uncle. He's my mother's second husband's cousin twice removed!"
I kinda forgot what happened after that but I believe that we got out of that mess without a scatch. =)
Hehe...the memories! I know it's not funny now that you're reading it but back at Neutral Grounds we couldn't stop laughing that time. =) Which right now made me remember another funny moment. This time it's a Mage game...Back when I was still Tonnie Seawolf.
"Hi!" Raven started to say to the guard at the station. "I would like to report a missing person."
"We are?" Tonnie looked at Raven with a questioning look.
Now in this case, we were out on a mission given to us by Maximillian. There have been reports of missing kids who suddenly disappeared in the fair. The group split up and Raven and I ended going together...I was just following Raven to where she was going and I didn't even ask was the plan was. To my shock, we ended up going to the fair's police station.
Raven approached the front desk with me still wondering what we were doing there in the first place. Then suddenly Raven said, "Hi! I'm would like to report a missing person."
To which I answered with shock in my voice, "We are?"
Now, in real life, we were all at Starbucks-Vito Cruz and just sitting down and playing. I really didn't know what Raven (played by Becca) was planning, I was just following her. That's why it was really a shock to me when Becca just said those lines. We were laughing so hard at the situation but we still played our parts. Jay included that little outburst of mine in the game and Becca and I tried to find a way out of the situation that we were in. There was a major dice role for Becca's part and mine as well as I try to make the police not pay attention to me at all. It was a good thing, it worked. But we were still calling a bluff.
Raven's character was really a gorgeous female specimen with a totem of a raven on her right shoulders. When she suddenly started to cry and said that her daughter of around 11-years was missing, we were in trouble again. To make that story short, Raven tried to stop (well, she didn't exactly stopped the time, just slowed it down) so that we can escape.
In the end, both of us as our characters and our real life personas were laughing out loud.
Hehe...the memories! Now going back, I really miss playing RPG...It was being someone I'm not but at the same time I am. A mixture of who I am and who I want to be.
I will keep those memories in tact for as long as I can. =)
