What happened to my boy???

Yes, this is another Kimi Raikkonen entry so bear with me because I'm griping.

What would have been a great race for my Fin didn't turn out the way any of us wanted. Of course for a fan of Mr. Raikkonen we would have wanted him to be at the top step of the podium smiling and waving to his fans and of course closing the gap a little more against Fernando Alonso. Well, it didn't happened...again...=(

Even before the race started he was going to have a lot of problems ahead of him because one, he's at 11th place, two he was behind Jacque Villeneve who's really good at closing opennings for overtake and three it's really hard to do anything in Monza when you're in the middle of everything. But he took it all in stride and just waited patiently for an opening for him to get in front and attack.

Well, it happened...kind of. When the teams started doing their pitstop poker, every one came in except for Kimi who stayed longer than everyone in the race. They were planning on a one stop for the Ice Man. It would have been the best idea Mclaren ever made except for one slight flaw that they didn't think about...after Kimi got in and out of the Pits, he encountered a tire puncture that made him run back into the pits to have his tire replaced...tragedy number 1. Okay, after that, all was going well...from 11th place he moved to 2nd and then he made a pit stop that moved him to 5th...then the tire problem...that moved him back to 11th. So he started struggling to go back in the front of the pack.

When things are going okay...the unexpected happened. Right when he's already at 4th closing the gap of 3rd place Fisichella, Kimi suddenly spun! It was a good thing he got control of the car or else it's race over for him, but honestly it was the first time I saw him made a mistake. Kimi was always one of those drivers who keeps his cool, trying so hard to do his best and rarely makes mistakes that could eventually screw him over during the race. So it's really shocking for me to see my hero spun because he was pressuring himself to go and over take the Italian. My poor boy, ended up 4th when he could have done better.

I couldn't blame the team except for the fact that they haven't done their job in giving him the best car to drive during the race but they did do their best to get him in the best position to actually do something about misfortune. It was a good plan...but of course it would have been best if Kimi didn't get the tire puncture and he didn't spin...honestly he would have gotten at least 3rd if he didn't spin.

Oh well, with 4 races left...he needs to win all of them if he still wants the title. Chances are slim but the season isn't over yet. And I hope that next week's race would be better for my hero.
