The other day, I got inside the MRT heading for Boni when I saw a cop sitting in the area supposedly exclusive for Senior Citizens, Women, and Children.
Okay, this wasn't the first time I have observed this. Whenever I ride the MRT, I always see cops doing this. And I can't help but wonder why?
As stated by the rules of the MRT. The first cabin of the MRT is exclusively for Senior Citizens, Women and Children. Exemptions to the rule would be men with children or accompanying Senior Citizens, or accompanying their pregnant wives. It doesn't say anything about uniformed men such as cops or people from military. Again, I ask why?
Why would the MRT allow fit, abled bodied men occupy space that should be for old people, women and children? Why would healthy men be allowed to enter a place that's for the "weak"?
Honestly, I do not see the logic in this? There are more than five cabins for the general public which these people could use and yet they insist on boarding the cabin in the front? Do they think that there will be trouble in the front cabin, that's why they ride there? Is it because the front cabin isn't as full as the other cabins in the MRT? Is it because they work for the government that's why they are allowed to ride in front?
I keep wondering. Because honestly, it's really unfair on the rest of the men who cram themselves the the other cabins to catch a ride in the MRT while they allow uniformed men to use the first cabin. I'm assuming they don't even have tickets to ride the MRT, they're just being allowed to enter. So, they get a free ride and at the same time they get to ride in the front exclusively for Senior Citizens, Women and Children.
Cops and military people (army, marines, air force, etc.) are people who should be really used to hardships. They should be trained to adapt to different situations. So riding an MRT in succeeding cabins should be a piece of cake for these types of guys. So why are they acting like sissies and insist on riding in the front cabin?
To me, it's just weird. And very illogical. I haven't really stopped wondering and I will never stop wondering about the special treatment they give to cops in these places.
