Last Saturday morning after that first time my older brother taught me the how to drive, I've got my chance again and it was really great.
Since my brother will be leaving the country by the end of the month at the least, I have to learn how to drive so that we wouldn't rely on my younger brother all the time to drive us everywhere. And since I don't have time to actually go to a driving school and enrol myself (plus the fact that it's kinda expensive to enrol myself in one since the cheapest that I found was around P8000), I have to look for someone with the patience enough to teach me how and of course has a car with a manual transmission (my brother told me that I shouldn't start learning in an automatic because I will get used to it and when the time comes that I might drive a manual, I'll have a hard time. Besides, it's easier to shift from manual to automatic than automatic to manual).
So, looking for people in my circle of friends that I see often and people I am with most of the time, (I was really hoping Victor can teach me but I know he's busy with a lot of things =)) my officemate offered to be my driving instructor.
And we began that morning.
He was actually amazed at how fast I learn. Well, we started out on how to actually start the car and learn how to move it forward without zooming like a formula 1 car. After 3 attempts to start the car without choking it, I've managed to start the car, move forward and turn properly without crashing into a wall, a lampost or another car. =)
It was a good feeling. And to think that I did a great job on my first drive really made me feel good about myself because at least I know that I can drive. =) And my officemate telling me that I was better than his brother when he was teaching him how to drive is really great as well. I actually beat a guy in driving (yes, I'm one of those people who thinks women can't drive but I have high respects to women who can though).
It's a great way to actually start a gloomy day. It was raining that morning when I left the house but I felt like the sun was shining and I felt warm and fuzzy inside. =)
