Happy Mother's Day

Gentle Gentle (Life of your life)
By Rebecca Lavelle

Gentle gentle sing to your child
Your companion for such a long long time
Beneath your heart
Her heart beats strong
Life of your life
Is safe in your arms

Touch her face
You gave her form
Child of this earth
Child of the sky
You are her voice
She has your eyes
This is her gift
The thread of life

Give her grace
Give her peace
Let her be strong
Let her be kind
She is your soul
And you are her strength
Bless her and guide her all of her life

Gentle gentle sing to your child
Your companion for such a long long time
Beneath your heart
Her heart beats strong
Life of your life
Is safe in your arms

It’s mother’s day and I would like to dedicate this blog entry to all the mothers out there who have been doing everything they can for their children. Of course, this blog is dedicated to my own mother who has worked abroad for about 15 years just so that we can be who we are right now. Also to my grandmother who has been with us since our parents went abroad. She has been the practical one. The person to remind us why our parents aren’t here.

The song “Gentle Gentle” is so right for the occasion in my opinion because it talks about the bond between mother and child (even though the song is about a mother and a new born baby daughter…the thought was there).

It tells about a bond between mother and child. A kind of connection that a mother has to her child. The instinct that a mother has when her child is far away, yet she could feel her pain.

It tells about nurturing. A mother’s way of molding her child to become who they are today. It’s not just about giving life to someone but its also about nurturing him or her so that they grow up to be fine people.

Mother’s have always been a guiding force. They are part of the half that gives us advice and tries their best to guide us to the right path. They help make the right decisions. And often times the saying “Mother knows best” has never been wrong.

Anyway, this is to all mothers out there. The housewives, the working moms, the single moms, the step-moms, the grandmothers, the conservative moms and the liberated moms. All the moms in the world whose sole purpose is for their kids. Thank you! And Happy Mother’s Day!!!
