On my rush to go home yesterday, I walked in the downpour. I didn't wait like any normal person would do...then again, I was never really 100% sane(hehe...). Anyway, despite being wet from the knee down, I actually enjoyed the experience.
I love the rain. If I wouldn't have looked ridiculous walking inside Shangri-La and the MRT drenched from head to toe, I wouldn't have taken out my umbrella and just braved the rain while singing in it. That would have been great indeed. Then again, not only will I look ridiculous, I would catch pneumonia from going in an air-conditioned area soaked. I also have Fred (my iPod Nano) to consider. I don't want him destroyed just because I wanted to enjoy the weather. If I was near home though, say I'll be coming from SM Southmall, then that would have been a different story altogether. I would have just enjoyed the 20 minute walk from there to our house not caring if I will be getting a cold afterwards because of it.
I love the rain. It's a very relaxing weather. Rainy days are those days that I just want to curl up in bed and stay there. The cold weather lifts up my spirit and though outside, things may look gloomy, I really like not seeing the sun. If given a choice what weather I want, it would be raining all the time.
It does have a downside though. Going to work on a rainy day is something I need to cope. I would need to bring extra clothes so that I would be shivering all day in an air-conditioned office. Living in Las PiƱas and working in Ortigas would make you think that way. It's an added baggage to bring and it's really not great when you're commuting.
But walking in the rain is really relaxing for me. The sound of the raindrops hitting the pavement is really soothing. It's a different world out there when the rain hits. And it's amazing.
I love walking in the rain. I hope the next time I do it, it would be near my place, so I won't have to open up my umbrella and keep dry.
